OS Wars Design

Over the next few weeks I’m going to working on a challenge from the Game Development Society at Uni: to develop a 2D top-down Real Time Strategy Game which uses the A* pathfinding algorithm. Being a Computer Science student, I couldn’t miss an opportunity to poke a bit of fun at Windows and Mac.

So, without further ado, I present OS Wars. Play as Windows, Mac or Linux and try and take over the market.

I might post a full design document over the next few days with more info.

I’ll be writing the game in C++ with SFML, making my own sprites in GIMP, making sounds in Audacity (or finding them free online), and keeping a journal the whole way through the progress. I can’t wait to start 😀
