SS 09: Humble Beginnings

I’m glad to say that we’ve made significant progress since last week.

We finally got used to Swing and ironed out the kinks of actually displaying something.

This week, we have a tile map which even scrolls as the player moves.

(graphics are quite obviously placeholders, I mean they’re not even tileable)

I’ve started to implement collision detection, but it’s not completely functional as of yet*.

I’m quite happy with what we’ve achieved so far. Next week if time allows (we have exams) we’ll work on collision detection, more design and story, and improved graphics.

*with collision detection enabled, any movement is currently impossible
